SWE Scholarships

We are now accepting scholarship applications for our 2021 wine and spirits programs.

We continue to be inspired by our 2020 scholarship recipients who have, despite many obstacles, pursued advanced education and expertise. As such, SWE has committed to award over 200 scholarships during 2021.

Our intention is to make these awards available to those who feel they have been marginalized or thwarted in their pursuit of a “place at the table” in the wine and spirits industry. This may include BIPOC, women, LGBQTA, non-binary people, people with limited financial means, and/or people with disabilities.

For more information and to apply for a 2021 scholarship please contact Shields Hood, shood@societyofwineeducators.org. To apply, please write 1-2 paragraphs, that include: information about yourself and how the SWE scholarship will benefit you in the wine and spirits industry.

Scholarship recipients will receive a one-year membership to the Society of Wine Educators, an attendance credit for the Certified Specialist of Wine or the Certified Specialist of Spirits exam, and the opportunity to take our instructor-led online prep class—all at no charge.
